My positions have always focused on what is best for the people of my district. In the interest of serving my constituents to the best of my
ability, I have made great strides in my relationships with legislators on both
sides of the aisle. My only obligation is to the people of the 78th district, constantly
looking for ways to help my communities, citizens and local officials.
In six years as your state representative, we have worked together to help move our communities forward, succeeding in obtaining grants, road improvements and
bridges, as well as many other accomplishments. I will continue to support the hard-working individuals and groups in my district by helping them be successful in their efforts to make our communities better. It has never been about me; it has always been about us.

78th District State Representative Candidates face off in TV Debate
In a recent political forum sponsored by Clarksville Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Clarksville and CDE Lightband, State Representative Phillip Johnson of the 78th District went head to head with opponent David Davidson. In the television forum taped before a live studio audience, both candidates fielded an assortment of questions on illegal immigration, education, public safety, roads, energy and more. “This was a great opportunity to see and hear both candidates on important issues”, stated a voter in the audience. “Everyone should take time to view this online to be an informed voter. Clearly there is a difference between the candidates.”
